At In A Pickle Publishing, we believe storytelling should spark curiosity, adventure, and wonder. Based in Savannah, Georgia, we are a small independent woman owned press dedicated to creating imaginative children’s books that inspire young readers to explore the world around them. 

Our flagship series, The Adventures of Pickle & Auntie Eshie, combines playful storytelling with themes of science, engineering, and nautical exploration—encouraging kids ages 5–12 to dream big, ask questions, and set sail on their own adventures. With every book, we aim to entertain, educate, and leave families with stories they’ll treasure for generations.

The Adventures of Pickle & Auntie Eshie is a children’s book series that blends curiosity, family, and adventure. Inspired by summers sailing on Lake Ontario, the stories follow Pickle—a curious young boy—and his adventurous Auntie Eshie as they explore the world around them. From sailor’s sayings and nature’s secrets to bridges, tunnels, and even the stars, each book sparks wonder while weaving in lessons from STEM, history, and the natural world. Perfect for readers ages 5–12, the series invites kids to discover that every day holds a new adventure.

The Adventures of Captain Pickle, the Pirate

Every summer, Dillon—nicknamed “Pickle” by his family—trades California skies for the sparkling waters of Lake Ontario. At the family cottage, ordinary days turn extraordinary when Dillon’s imagination transforms him into Captain Pickle the Pirate, fearless sailor of the Great Green Seas. With his mischievous first mate, Eight-Bell Eshie, at his side and his family recast as a loyal crew, Captain Pickle braves magical storms, riddle-speaking parrots, giggling tides, and rival snack pirates in search of treasures that are never gold alone, but courage, laughter, friendship, and family.
